Last summer I went to a women’s conference in North Carolina called She Speaks. Like most of the girls in attendance, I was a little (ok, A LOT) nervous about walking into a room of 650+ women without knowing a single soul. I prayed that I’d meet at least one friend I could sit with (please tell me I’m not the only one who sweats at the thought of sitting by themselves!) .
Over the next three days I made more than a handful of friends. Shanda was one of these beautiful women. We met while standing in line at Starbucks — which, in my mind, was the formula for instant friendship. Since that initial encounter in North Carolina, Shanda and I have stayed in contact and she is one of the most supportive women I’ve had the privilege of meeting. Shanda is a fellow blogger and her goal is to encourage others in both their spiritual and physical health.
I was super honoured when Shanda asked me to write a guest post for her February blog series on Friendship. It’s entitled “Look For the Lonely” and in it I share about the first few months after our move to Canada- the bitter loneliness and what God taught me through it. You can check it out here.
Have a beautiful Monday, friends.!
